Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), will spend Christmas in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS). Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP, Monday Bala Kuryas, has paraded ten suspected kidnappers and recovered about 500 Cattle rustled by suspects in the Lapai Local Government Area of the state. Kuryas, who stated this in Minna while parading the suspects, said they were arrested based on information from a credible source.

Unidentified gunmen on Tuesday night stormed Anara market in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State and shot at sight. An eyewitness said the gunmen who came in a Siena vehicle, shot repeatedly at a restaurant in the area and zoomed off.

The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a training camp used by an illegal Military outfit known as the Nigerian Merchant Navy, in the Ogudu Stanfield area of the State. Two more bodies have been recovered from the scene of the 21-storey building which collapsed last Monday in Ikoyi, Lagos, the state government announced yesterday. Residents of Askira town in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State fled when Boko Haram fighters attacked a village on Wednesday. While some residents fled into bushes and surrounding mountains for safety, a military convoy reportedly escorted the traditional ruler of the area out of the town.

At least, 11 people have been killed while 13 others sustained various degrees of injury when gunmen attacked communities in the Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State. The police spokesman in Katsina, SP Gambo Isa, said bandits in their numbers, attacked the community with AK 47 rifles and gunned down 11 residents.
